Over 100 hundred million individuals, comprising at minimum 15 million minors, currently utilize e-cigarettes, fueling a recent surge of nicotine habit, as stated by recent worldwide health findings.
Minors are, on average, nine times more likely than mature individuals to vape, based on available global figures.
Vaping devices are driving a "recent wave" of nicotine habit, remarked a senior health representative. "These devices are advertised as damage limitation but, actually, are addicting kids on nicotine earlier and threaten undermining generations of advancement."

"Numerous of citizens are ceasing, or refraining from tobacco consumption thanks to tobacco control efforts by states throughout the globe," he said.
"As an answer to this substantial progress, the tobacco industry is pushing back with novel nicotine items, aggressively aiming at youth. Administrations must take action faster and more vigorously in implementing tested tobacco-control policies," he added.
The e-cigarette statistics are a projection since several nations - 109 in total, and several in African and South-East Asia - fail to collect statistics.
According to the study, as of February this year, at minimum 86 million e-cigarette users were grown-ups, mostly in developed countries.
And at bare minimum 15 million adolescents between the ages of 13 and 15 currently vape, according to studies from 123 nations.
Although numerous states have tried to establish e-cigarette policies to address youth vaping in recent years, by the close of 2024, 62 countries even now had no measure in place, and 74 nations had no age limit at which e-cigarettes may be acquired, reports the medical organization.
Simultaneously, tobacco use has been declining - from an estimated 1.38 billion users in 2000 to 1.2 billion in 2024.
Frequency of tobacco use among females decreased the greatest - from 11% in 2010 to 6.6% in 2024.
With males, the decrease was from 41.4% in 2010 to 32.5% in 2024.
But one in five of mature individuals worldwide still consumes tobacco.
